Since Big Tech censored President Donald Trump in his last days of office, he has been seeking alternatives.
Twitter, Facebook and others took it upon themselves to silence the President in the wake of the Capitol riots.
Amazon decided to no longer host Parler’s servers, resulting in Parler shutting down for over a month to locate different server hosting.
This event set a dangerous precedent because Big Tech showed the American people just how much power they truly wield.
Chairman of the American Conservative Union Matt Schlapp said, “There’s a real despondent feeling among those people, … And many were buoyed to hear the former President. We never had a president get silenced before. It’s never happened.”
Big Tech can now silence the most influential person in the world: the United States President.
If they believe the President is spreading misinformation, provoking violence or anything that they feel violates their ultra-vague “community guidelines.”
BUT, Donald Trump is not finished yet.
Since President Joe Biden’s inauguration, Trump retreated silently to Mar-a-Lago to play golf and gather his thoughts for his next “YUGE” move.
We know little about what Trump’s next big move is, but he has made a few public statements.
Trump told Newsmax TV, “We’re negotiating with a number of people, … There is also the option of building your own site because we have more people than anybody, so you can literally build your own site. But we were being really harassed on Twitter. They were putting up all sorts of flags, I guess they call them, they were flagging almost anything you said.”
According to the Washington Examiner, Trump said in another comment: “We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future.”
According to the Washington Examiner, Former President Donald Trump has told friends he has hundreds of millions of dollars in backing for a new social media venture that would give him an online presence and protect conservatives from being shut down online.
President Trump has also told his friends that he already has hundreds of millions of dollars in backing for a new social media platform.
The Washington Examiner reported, “Two sources familiar with discussions said investors included Silicon Valley figures motivated by fears of censorship and online cancel culture.”
The platform would protect conservatives and other freedom-loving Americans from censorship online and Big Tech’s overreaching powers.
With Trump’s massive following that is still growing daily, an alternate social media platform is a no-brainer, and it’s likely to come.
