With only a few days under his belt, Joe Biden has already taken distinct action to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic.
While also signing over 40 executive orders in his first week in office, Biden began to roll out his ideas to improve the nation’s status on COVID-19.
Biden presented a $1.9 trillion billion relief package, a stark contrast to Trump’s initial $8.3 billion plan back in March.
Biden concluded that this was enough money and stated that this would encompass all of the necessary steps to open our country back up safely.
One of Biden’s main focuses was to regulate testing. His goal was to ensure that everyone gets free and reliable COVID-19 tests.
To ensure more reliable tests, the Biden Administration intends to invest in companies that create at-home and instant tests.
The Biden administration has also tried to double the amount of drive-through testing sites throughout the country to bring more data and case-tracking.
Biden was also adamant about his feelings regarding the virus in the workplace.
“No one should have to choose between their livelihoods and their own health or the health of loved ones in the middle of a deadly pandemic,” Biden said.
The White House proceeded to create a new order allowing employees to qualify for unemployment benefits if they felt unsafe in their work environment.
This order left much to the imagination as Americans watched the U.S. continue to spend billions of dollars to help maintain and rebuild the U.S. economy.
Regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, Biden planned to invest $25 billion into a vaccine manufacturing and distributing plan.
The Biden Administration has continued to promote the vaccine and its safety.
Biden believes that this pandemic will still be a threat for a long time, as he continues to invest much of his time and taxpayer money into creating businesses and government action plans to ‘conquer’ the virus.
Biden continues to take much instant action against the pandemic despite recent statements. Only days after being in office, he stated that “the trajectory of the pandemic can’t be changed in the upcoming months.”.
Statements like this leave the American people feeling uneasy about whether Biden believes that his administration can impact the pandemic or not.
Biden’s outlook on the COVID-19 outbreak is anticipated to be much different than President Trump’s.
Biden is infusing money and time into creating a nation with businesses and companies that accept the pandemic’s fate. In comparison, Trump focused on ending the pandemic all together and getting people back to work as quickly and as safely as possible.
The drastic change in policy from the White House is presenting to be an issue for the American people, as Biden’s most recent approval rating fell below 50%.
While Trump focused on getting Americans back to work and their freedoms, the Biden Administration focuses on government support to the American people.
The looming debt in America and the financial crisis that we are currently in could be Biden’s biggest adversary as he continues to advocate for government assistance.
If Americans have learned anything from the pandemic, it’s that relying on the government is everything but reliable. This may cause many Americans to focus on the rights guaranteed to them rather than the handouts that the Biden Administration is pursuing.
