On Thursday, the House Impeachment managers attempt to hold Donald Trump accountable for the words of rioters.
Members of Congress in favor of Donald J Trump’s conviction used videos to argue against the former President.
In one of the videos demonstrated, a rioter screams at police, “We were invited here … We were invited by the president of the United States.”
Others displayed rioters saying, “He’ll be happy!” referring to President Trump.
“We’re fighting for Trump!” Another video showed rioters saying.
“He asked us to be there … So I was doing what he asked us to do,” A woman from Texas said.
While a minuscule amount of rioters claim that President Trump sent them to storm the Capitol, it’s unclear where they received that order.
President Trump did hold a rally-style protest on January 6th; however, the second that any violence occurred, he immediately called for it to stop.
“Go home with love and in peace. Remember this day forever!” President Trump said moments after the chaos at the Capitol ensued.
David Schoen, who is apart of Trump’s legal team, claims the Impeachment managers are currently failing at their job.
“They haven’t in any way tied it to Donald Trump,” Schoen said about his private citizen client to the press.
Schoen went on to say, “I think it’s offensive, quite frankly. It’s an antithesis [of] the healing process to continue to show the tragedy that happened here that Donald Trump has condemned, and I think it tears at the American people, quite frankly.”
House impeachment managers also accused President Trump of lying about election fraud despite TIME Magazine recently published an article that backs up many of President Trump’s claims.

“Donald Trump had sent them there,” Rep. Diana DeGette, a Democrat from Colorado, said.
“They truly believed that the whole intrusion was at the president’s orders and we know that because they said so,” DeGette went on to say.
Those trying to convict former President Trump apparently have not differentiated between Trump’s rally before the insurrection and the actual insurrection.
“I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,” Trump said at his rally on January 6th.
While insurrectionists may have been planning to storm the Capitol, it’s clear through these comments that that was not apart of President Trump’s agenda.
The overwhelming evidence in favor of Donald Trump’s case is making many wonder if there might be any ulterior motives to this impeachment process.
In fact, Representative Ted Lieu, a Democrat from California, clearly stated on Thursday how much of a threat Donald Trump is to the Democratic party.
“You know, I’m not afraid of Donald Trump running again in four years,” the Representative said before the Senate.
“You know, I’m not afraid of Donald Trump running again in four years,” Lieu said.
If the impeachment process is only being carried out so Donald Trump can’t run again, is that not a decision for the American people?
If Donald Trump was not such a threat to the Democratic party, it’s hard to believe that they would pursue impeachment with this tenacity and force.
The impeachment trial’s winner has yet to be announced; however, the loser is clear—the American people.
The American people have lost COVID relief, healthcare answers, and more due to the partisan games that Congress is playing.
No matter who ends up on top at the end of the impeachment trial, the American people are most certainly at the bottom.
