Two months after publishing FAKE quotes of Donald Trump during the Elections season, the Washington Post decided to walk back their claims.
Two months is a LONG time and given the fact that they waited to correct themselves until AFTER a Presidential impeachment trial, the damage they did is already done.
Here’s what the Daily Caller reported what happened:
The Washington Post issued a lengthy correction after published audio revealed it misquoted former President Donald Trump regarding his phone call with Frances Watson, the chief investigator of the Georgia secretary of state’s office.
The report, first published in December, accused Trump of telling Watson to “find the fraud” and lauding her as “a national hero” if she was able to find any. While the audio did show Trump claiming he won the 2020 election and suggesting Watson would be “praised” after the “right answer” was revealed, The Post’s original quotes turned out to be fake news.
“Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator,” The Post’s article now reads at the top of the story. “The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to ‘find the fraud’ or say she would be ‘a national hero’ if she did so.”
“Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find ‘dishonesty’ there,” the correction continued. “He also told her that she had ‘the most important job in the country right now.’”
Not only were the quotes that the Washington Post KNOWINGLY published completely false, they were also used as ammunition against President Trump. Many media outlets used the quotes as a way to depict Trump in a ‘mob boss’ mentality during the election.
Their claims poured gasoline on the fire of the election season. We all know that the election season came to a complete end after the chaos at the Capitol was framed as Donald Trump’s fault.
Many left-wing speakers and outlets claimed that Donald Trump’s call to ‘find the fraud’ was one that insinuated the insurrection that happened at the Capitol on January the 6th.
Now we know that Donald Trump DID NOT say those things which means the Washington Post may have attributed to the violence and hostility at the Capitol.
Their careless behavior instigated the radical hate for Donald Trump across the liberal party and some of the nation. This is a direct attempt to influence public policy through media distribution and may even be a slanderous offense.
Now Donald J. Trump is responding to the Washington Post’s reckless reporting and he isn’t taking it easy on them.
Here’s what Donald Trump said in a statement to the Washington Post’s actions:
“The Washington Post just issued a correction as to the contents of the incorrectly reported phone call I had with respect to voter fraud in the Great State of Georgia,” Trump said opening his statement.
“While I appreciate the Washington Post’s correction, which immediately makes the Georgia Witch Hunt a non-story, the original story was a Hoax, right from the very beginning,” Trump went on to say.
“I would further appreciate a strong investigation into Fulton County, Georgia, and the Stacey Abrams political machine which, I believe, would totally change the course of the presidential election in Georgia.”
“Fulton County has not been properly audited for vote or signature verification,” Trump said.
“They only looked at areas of the State where there most likely would be few problems, and even there they found large numbers of mistakes. We are seeking to find and reveal the large-scale election fraud which took place in Georgia. Many residents agree, and their anger caused them not to turn out and vote for two Republican Senators in the January election.”
“The Consent Decree signed between Raffensperger and Stacey Abrams was not approved by the Georgia State Legislature, and therefore should be deemed invalid, and the election result changed,” the former President of the United States said.
“Why the Governor and Raffensperger ever approved this Consent Decree is one of the great questions? We look forward to an answer.”
SHEESH, Donald Trump is ‘looking forward to an answer’ no one knows if he’ll get it, BUT after the claims made against him, he deserves one.
Trump goes on to cite the media’s attempt to wage war on the conservative movement and himself.
“You will notice that establishment media errors, omissions, mistakes, and outright lies always slant one way — against me and against Republicans. Meanwhile, stories that hurt Democrats or undermine their narratives are buried, ignored, or delayed until they can do the least harm — for example, after an election is over,” Trump said.
So its ‘criminal’ when Donald Trump challenges election results but when Nancy Pelosi does it, she gets a FREE PASS???
We can go in CIRCLES talking about the left’s hypocrisy but let’s get back to how Donald Trump finished his ATTACK on the Jeff Bezos owned Washington Post
“Look no further than the negative coverage of the vaccine that preceded the election and the overdue celebration of the vaccine once the election had concluded,” Trump said.
“A strong democracy requires a fair and honest press. This latest media travesty underscores that the legacy media outlets should be regarded as political entities — not journalistic enterprises. In any even, I thank the Washington Post for the correction,” the former President said in closing.
The left just got caught RED HANDED, it doesn’t take any genius to see how biased the media is in this situation. Given the fact that these quotes stirred a Presidential impeachment, this should signal a MASS EXODUS from the left-wing media.
