Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina, has announced that he has been diagnosed withe prostate cancer.
Tillis fought long and hard during the election season of 2020 to maintain the North Carolina Senate seat but he is now faced with a new and dangerous challenge.
Thom Tillis announced that he will undergo surgery in his home state of North Carolina in the statements he made. His announcement will be located below:
“I am in the hands of outstanding medical professionals and expect to make a full recovery,” the North Carolina Senator said in his statement.
“I am blessed that my cancer was detected relatively early, and I can’t emphasize enough how important routine screenings are, regardless of how healthy you think you are. I had no symptoms and would have never imagined I had cancer,” Tillis added.
The Senator is maintaining positivity saying that his diagnosis was found early during a routine check up which found the cancer prior to any severe spread.
Tillis, who is 60-years-old has been in the United States Senate since 2015 battled Cal Cunningham in the 2020 election season but managed to come out on top.
