AOC Gets Roasted For Comparing Jan. 6th to ‘Serving in War’

by Graham Allen Team

Just when we thought New York socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could not stoop any lower, she surprises everyone.

Last week, Ocasio-Cortez said she’s in “therapy” because of the supposed trauma she is still experiencing from the Jan. 6 mayhem at the U.S. Capitol.

Ocasio-Cortez also falsely claimed that the experience felt like she and other lawmakers “served in war.”

Former U.S. Army Green Beret and Congressman Michael Waltz has taken notice and is blasting his colleague for the comparison.

“January 6 was a terrible day for sure and those involved will be brought to justice but this is a sad and ignorant comparison to make…and a disservice to those who actually served,” he tweeted.

“AOC doesn’t know what it’s like to come under attack by machine gun fire, mortars or RPGs. She hasn’t seen the horror of roadside IED explosions on bystanders & children. She hasn’t lost fellow soldiers on the battlefield or seen friends permanently disfigured by Taliban attacks,” he added in a second tweet.

During the Capitol mayhem, AOC wasn’t even in the U.S. Capitol, but in the Cannon Office building several blocks away. She also publicly berated a police officer for attempting to take her to a safer area:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has claimed she feared the Capitol cop who was sent to evacuate her from her office during the January 6 riot because he looked at her ‘with hostility’ amid accusations she ‘exaggerated’ her experience because she was never actually in the building that was stormed, and after accusing Sen. Ted Cruz of trying to have her ‘murdered’.

On January 6, Dem. Rep. AOC was in her office in the Cannon Office Building – which was evacuated but not breached – when rioters stormed the Capitol Building 0.3 miles away.

Ocasio-Cortez’s outrageous comments came last week during an interview on Latino USA.

AOC played the victim and said she’s in “therapy” because of the supposed trauma she is still experiencing.

Ocasio-Cortez also said it “had a lot of us, especially Latino communities, in a very reactive mode” and even falsely claimed that the experience meant that she and other lawmakers “served in war.”

“After the 6th, I took some time and it was really Ayanna Pressley when I explained to her what happened to me, like the day of, because I ran to her office and she was like, ‘you need to recognize trauma,’” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“Oh yeah, I’m doing therapy but also I’ve just slowed down,” she said. “I think the Trump administration had a lot of us, especially Latino communities, in a very reactive mode.”

“Sixty seconds could have meant potentially the difference between what we have right now and a martial state,” she continued. “This was an all-out attempted coup.”

“If 60 seconds went differently, if a different door was opened, if a chair wasn’t barricaded in a certain way, we could have a completely different reality right now,” the radical lawmaker added. “We don’t want to acknowledge that that’s how close we got, but that is how close we got.”
